While waiting to depart Kansas City Airport, I met a Winfield friend, Lawrence from Lawrence:

A Newark Airport, we visited with a Facebook friend, Andrew Young.
His family was moving to St. John's from Omaha.

On our first full day in Newfoundland, we visited one of my newsgroup friends, Fred Palmer.
He had a lawn chair that made it more pleasant to attend the NLFF.

Dave Panting was our first friend from Newfoundland.
We stopped by to pick up some things we leave at his house instead of hauling them each year on the plane.

Ashley Fitzpatrick came to Dave's house to interview us for an article for the Telegram.
Three years earlier, when we didn't have a rented car, Ashley's the one who gave us a ride to Topsail Beach.

It was nice to see Ian McKinnon again. We hadn't seen him for nine years.

We met Tobias McDonald in Trinity last year and keep running into him wherever there's good music.

We first met Gary Wells in 2003 when he was teaching at Rencontre East.
We now meet annually at the Festival of Friends in Outer Cove.
